In 1993, UNESCO declared Menorca biosphere reserve and during our walking holiday, you will visit the most beautiful spots the island has to offer. Hiking the ancient path of “Cami de Cavalls”, you will discover the white sandy beaches of the South and the rocky coast of the North. On this self-guided tour, you will be staying in charming, family run hotels where you will be treated as kings. The coast of Menorca is one of the best preserved of the Mediterranean and attracts thousands of migrating birds. The inhabitants of the island are proud of their natural and cultural heritage, and it shows. If you want to enjoy the authentic and unspoiled Mediterranean, Menorca is the place to be!
Arrival at Menorca. Optional transfer from the airport to the hotel in Maó where our local guide will explain the tour and provide you with the hiking maps, GPS and information pack.
Transfer from your hotel to the beach of Sa Mesquida (20min). From the beach you take the path that is easy to follow and crosses the Albufera lagune. You arrive at the pristine beach of Sa Torreta, surrounded by dunes. You now turn inland through the green fields that are dotted with wild flowers. You pass the beach of Tortuga, a perfect spot for a picnic and a dip in the sea. From here the path continues along the rugged coast, with spectacular views over the moonlike landscape and beautiful coves until you arrive at the light tower of Favaritx. A transfer will take you to your hotel in the village of Fornells.

Today you have the option to either take a transfer in the morning to Binimel-là and walk back to Fornells or have a transfer pick you up in Binimel-là. We recommend the first option. You will be walking through one of Menorca´s wildest and best-preserved landscapes. The beaches of Cala Mica, Caballería and Tirant are stunning and a delight to walk along. You will continue along the beaches of Fornells until you arrive at the harbour, where you should try the “caldereta de langosta” in one of the restaurants. You can visit Ses Salines, the wetlands of Fornells. You spend a second night in Fornells.

Transfer from your hotel to the beach of El Pilar (40min). A remarkable walk along the most rugged coast of the island. From the heights of the cliffs you will spot Egyptian vultures, Osprey and seabirds. Wild goats are probably the only other users of the path that you will encounter as you walk along dunes, pine forest and wetlands. You arrive at Cala Morell, a beautiful cove with a white sandy beach. It will be difficult to resist the temptation not to swim. A transfer will take you to your hotel in the picturesque town of Ciutadella (15 min).

Transfer in the morning to the beach of Son Saura (30 min) Today it will seem you are walking on a different island as you discover the southern coast. This is one of the most spectacular days of the week, crossing the turquoise coves of Menorca. You begin the hike to Cala Galdana to get to Cala Macarella and Macarelleta, where many aquatic species coexist among the reeds of Santa Anna. Then, crossing wild olive groves and juniper woods you will arrive at the dunes of the paradisiacal beach of Cala en Turqueta. Along the route, you will pass through rocky terrain, ravines and creeks. Take some time to relax in Cala Talaier, a heavenly beach Transfer from Cala Galdana to Bini Said (5 min), a rural hotel set in the Menorcan countryside. You spend the night in this magical and peaceful place where food is a religion.
A transfer takes you from Bini Said to Cala Galdana (5 min). Today’s hike is known as the route of the ravines. You start your walk through the ravine of Agendar de Cala Galdana where you will spot a lot of birds in the caves. You continue along the stunning beaches of Cala Mitjaneta and Cala Mitjana. The path now follows the coast until you turn inland through the ravines of Trebalúger and Es Calafat. You arrive the beach of Binigaus and then further along the beaches of Santo Tomás and San Adeodato. Here, a transfer will take you back to your hotel in Bini Said.
Our transfer takes you to Santo Tomàs where you take the path that goes inland through the fields of Son Bou and along the lagune of Ses Canessa. You continue to the beach of Son Bou, the largest of the island surrounded by dunes of great ecological value. The path now leads to the beach of Cala en Porter, our end destination. A transfer will take you to Mao (20 min) where you spend the night.
