4 easy cycle stages along medieval villages, the Costa Brava and the historic town of Girona and Cadaques . Visit the museum and house of Dali in Cadaques, cycle along the vineyards and marshlands of de Emporda region, relax at the Costa Brava and marvel at the beauty of the historic town of Girona.
Arrival at the airport and transfer to Cadaques where our guide welcomes you and gives you all the explanations about the route. Your bike will be prepared especially for you and you will get all the documentation, maps and information you need for the trip. After the session it is time to take a walk along the beach and in the beautiful centre of Cadaques. Overnight stay in Cadaques.
Circular route in Cadaqués and surroundings
You cycle out of Cadaqués, considered one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa Brava towards the Nature Reserve of Cap de Creus. The peculiar geological landscape gave Dali the inspiration of many of his paintings. You will arrive at the lighthouse from where you have a beautiful view of the rocky coast of the Costa Brava. Upon returning, you pass the “Landscape of Tudela”, a geological site that you can visit on foot. Before you arrive at Cadaques, you pass the museum and House of Dali in Portlligat, which is well worth a visit. Overnight stay in Cadaqués.
Garriguella - L'Estartit
Our transfer service takes you from Cadaques to Garriguella, a village famous for its fabulous wines. You cycle further inland through beautiful plains and the marshlands of Aiguamolls, an important nature reserve, before arriving at the medieval village of Peralada. You continue through ricefields and forest until you arrive at Castello d’Empuries, with its medieval castle and stunning cathedral. From Castello you head towards the coast until you arrive at L’Estartit, a coastal village with a large sandy beach and the nature reserve of the Medes Islands.
L’Estartit - Palamós
As soon as you leave L'Estartit, you turn inland through the stunning plains of de Emporda and the beautiful medieval villages of Peratallada, Ullastret and Pals. You are now heading to the coastal village of Calella de Palafrugell, an ideal place to relax at the beach. A combination of gravel roads and cycle paths along pine forests and Spanish countryside takes you to the beaches of Es Castell and Sant Joan de Palamos. Your final destination is Palamos, a typical Mediterranean fishing village with narrow streets, terraces and cosy restaurants.
Palamós – Girona
You leave Palamos cycling along the beach to the popular seaside resort of Platja d'Aro. Here the cycle path goes inland via pine forests and fields, past typical Catalan villages that are connected by the cycle path of the via verde. You cycle all the way along cycle paths to the city center of Girona, a beautiful town with lots of historic sites, nice shops, tapas bars and excellent restaurants.
Free day in Girona and optional transfer to the airport or departure point or ... why not stay for two or three more days and visit the museum of Dali in Figueres or Barcelona?
