Sant Pere Pescador – L’Escala +
The day starts with a lovely walk along the vast beach of Sant Pere Pescador, before walking inland via the GR92 path. The path winds through fields with canals, rice fields and the marshes of Aiguamolls. Eventually you reach Empuries, the most important and largest ruins of a Greco-Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula. Well worth a visit! Arrival and overnight stay in L'Escala, a large village on the coast with cozy streets full of cafes and shops.
L’Escala – Torroella de Montgrí
A challenging but very nice walk full of contrasts. From L'Escala you first follow the coast to Punta Ventosa, a magnificent vantage point with a view over the rugged rocky coast. The path turns inwards through pine forests and towards the Montgri Mountains above which Montgri castle proudly keeps watch. The path here is steep and requires your attention to get to the top. The reward: unforgettable views of the Emporda countryside, the coast and the Pyrenees. At the castle you descend to the beautiful village of Torroella where you spend the night.
Torroella de Montgrí – Begur
You leave Torroella via the River Ter along a wide and flat path, past orchards and rice fields that reach to the sea. You follow the beautiful sandy beach of Pals, some stunning, rocky coves to finally climb to the picturesque village of Begur. Overnight stay in Begur.
Begur – Calella de Palafrugell
The GR92 trail initially goes along a footpath along the street but soon you walk down pine forests to reach the coast. The path climbs and descends from bay to bay, past beautiful cliffs and charming villages where you can eat and have a drink. Villages such as Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell are among the most beautiful during the entire tour. Overnight stay in Calella de Palafrugell.
Calella de Palafrugell – Palamós
This is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular walks along the Costa Brava. The trail winds up and down beautiful beaches, coves, holm oak forest, olive trees and ends in Palamos, a large fishing village with a typical Mediterranean atmosphere and a lively fishing port with a fish market and accompanying fishing museum that you should definitely visit. You stay in a nice hotel on the beach of Palamós.
Palamós – Sant Feliu de Guíxols
From Palamos you follow the coast further south along the touristic Platja d'Aro, some beautiful bays, the beautiful sandy beach of Sant Pol and a final climb over the rocky coast before arriving in Sant Feliu de Guixols. This beautiful village with its large pleasure port, cozy market squares and beautiful beaches is your final destination. Enjoy the many cafes and restaurants or visit the monastery where art exhibitions are held. Overnight stay in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
